This Privacy Policy explains how this Chrome extension (“the Extension”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use it. The Extension allows users to watch YouTube videos with dual-language subtitles, highlight phrases, and receive translations or grammar explanations.

Data Usage

The Extension operates entirely inside your browser.

Subtitles are requested directly from YouTube while you watch a video and are displayed locally.

No video content or subtitle data is transmitted to, stored on, or shared with our servers.

When you highlight a word or phrase, only the selected text is securely sent to our translation or AI API to generate a translation, conjugation, or grammar note.

The highlighted text is processed in memory for your current request and may be stored only in your personal phrase list (in local storage on your device).

Data Storage

The Extension may use Chrome storage (local storage or sync storage) to save your personal settings, preferred languages, and saved phrases.

This information never leaves your device unless you explicitly back it up or export it.

Third-Party Services

The Extension may connect to our own API or trusted translation and AI services solely to process highlighted text.

These requests contain only the text you select; no identifying information (account data, browsing history, video URLs) is included.

All external requests use HTTPS encryption.

Cookies and Tracking

The Extension does not use cookies, analytics trackers, or any third-party advertising networks.

Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share any user data with third parties. Aggregated, anonymous statistics (e.g., total number of API requests) may be collected to monitor performance and maintain service reliability.

Your Control

You can remove all local data at any time by uninstalling the Extension or clearing its data via your browser settings.

Children’s Privacy

This Extension is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
